5 Bali Retreats Worth Attending as a Founder This Year

Not all Bali retreats are created equal. After attending and hosting dozens, I know which ones actually move the needle for founders, and which are expensive holidays with a yoga mat.

A curated shortlist of the Bali retreats worth your time and money as a founder in 2026. What to look for, what to avoid, and how to choose.

I have attended more Bali retreats than I can count, and hosted a number of my own. The range is extraordinary: from genuinely transformative experiences that change how you see your work and your life, to expensive wellness holidays with an agenda.

The difference is not price point. I have been to $5,000-a-head retreats that were glorified yoga weeks, and $800 experiences that cracked something open I had been carrying for years. The difference is intention, curation, and who else is in the room.

What a good founder retreat actually delivers

  • Clarity on something that has been blurry, a business decision, a life direction
  • 2–3 people who become part of your actual world, not just contacts you keep in a folder
  • A shift in how you work or think that you carry back into your daily life and can point to six months later

5 retreats worth attending as a founder

1. Ascend Connect & Co-Create Immersions

Best for: founders, coaches, operators

Full-day immersions: usually 8–16 people, chosen carefully, with a morning session, shared lunch, afternoon deep-dive, and dinner. No panels, no presentations. Real conversation. Depth over performance, curation over volume. Several times a year in Uluwatu and Canggu.

Format: Full-day, 8–16 people. Cost: $200–$600. Access: invitation or application.

2. Bali Spirit Festival

Best for: wellness entrepreneurs, coaches, speakers

Annual in April, runs for a week. Not a business retreat per se, but the quality of people in the conscious business and wellness space is remarkable. Go with specific intentions: one practitioner to meet, one skill to develop, one conversation to have.

Format: Week-long festival. Annual (April). Cost: $150–$500 for passes.

3. Fivelements Retreat

Best for: deep rest and reset

One of Bali's most established luxury wellness retreats on the Ayung River in Ubud. Not founder-focused, but if you are running on empty and need a genuine reset, the quality here is exceptional. Minimum 3 days to get the benefit.

Format: Residential wellness. Cost: $400–$800/night all-inclusive.

4. Private Mastermind Days (Ascend Network)

Best for: established founders wanting peer advisory

Occasional events in Uluwatu for a small group (6–10 founders). Full day, peer-to-peer format: each person brings a challenge, the group works on it together. Not publicly listed, access through the Ascend community.

Format: Full-day peer advisory. Cost: $300–$600. Access: Ascend invitation.

5. Conscious Business Retreats (various)

Best for: those building at the intersection of business and purpose

Bali has an active ecosystem of smaller, independently hosted retreats. Quality varies enormously. The way to find the good ones: ask inside a community you trust who has actually attended, not just who is promoting them. The best retreats rarely need to advertise.

Format: Varies. Cost: $500–$3,000. Access: community referral recommended.

How to get the most from any retreat

  • Arrive with one specific question you want answered. Not a list, one thing.
  • Resist the urge to network aggressively. The deepest connections happen when you are present, not working the room.
  • Do the follow-through. A voice note to someone you connected with, the day after.
  • Give yourself a day of integration after. Do not fly home the next morning.
